This course delivers one-to-one training to help learners understand the principles behind coaching and make a positive impact on their teams.
Aims and Objectives
This course aims to provide the skills, knowledge and confidence to enable anyone with responsibility for coaching in their organisation.
Duration
There is no set duration for the course, which can be tailored to your organisation’s needs. The course usually lasts between 1-4 days.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners are expected to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.
Who Should Attend
This course is ideal for managers, HR teams or anyone with responsibility for organising coaching support in an organisation, as well as those in a direct coaching role.
Content
The course is broken down into five modules:
- Training in Context
This module outlines the importance of training and personal development to an organisation, as well as how to plan a training program and the range of tools available.
- Preparing to Coach
This module focuses on how to identify an individual’s training needs and prepare a coaching plan with proper performance assessment.
- Understanding Learning
This module offers a broad overview of the learning process, including how to motivate the learner and identify potential barriers, and how to clearly understand the learning curve.
- The Skills, Knowledge and Personal Attributes of an Effective Coach
In this module, learners will review just what makes an effective coach, looking at the skills, attitude and behaviour that can achieve results.
- Delivering an Effective Coaching Session
Finally, the course will provide an overview of how to create and deliver an effective coaching session, as well as looking at best practice and how to properly assess and respond to progress.

Certification
Learners will be given a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course.
