Being assertive and staying assertive can bring so much to the workplace, letting your confidence grow and reducing stress while communicating better and getting results. With this one-day course you will learn the basics of assertive behaviour as well as gaining the skills you need to stay assertive.
Aims and Objectives
This course aims to give delegates an understanding of the tools and techniques behind staying consistently assertive and recognising passive and aggressive behaviour.

This is a one-day workshop course.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners are expected to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.

Content
This course is divided into three modules:
- Aims and Objectives
This module looks at how to recognise passive, assertive and aggressive behaviour and how to convey messages effectively as well as how to say no. It identifies barriers, risks and benefits and looks at body language and how that supports assertive communication. Delegates will have the opportunity to develop an action plan to help embed what they have learned from the course.
- How to be Assertive
This module examines key skills and techniques around assertiveness and looks at the three steps to assertiveness.
- Dealing with Difficult Situations without Causing Conflict
In this module, we look at difficult situations and how we can respond to them more effectively and assertively.
Course Benefits
This course is designed to help encourage delegates to find their confidence and develop an assertive approach to their everyday worklife.
Certification
Learners will be given a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course.
