PUWER – Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
PUWER regulations apply to the safe use of any machinery or tools used in the workplace. These regulations require users of work equipment to carry out proper risk assessment, as well as obliging organisations to provide work equipment that is suitable for its intended task and that can be used without putting persons at risk. In this one-day course, we will provide delegates with the theoretical knowledge and practical ways they need to be able to interpret the requirements of PUWER and apply it to their own organisations.
Description
Outline
PUWER regulations apply to the safe use of any machinery or tools used at work. These regulations require users of work equipment to carry out risk assessments and provide work equipment that is suitable for its intended task and that can be used without putting persons at risk. PUWER therefore not only requires that operators of work equipment are correctly trained but also those who supervise the use of equipment. This course provides delegates with a sufficient level of theoretical knowledge and awareness to be able to interpret the requirements of PUWER and apply it to their own roles and organisations.
