Now available LIVE via the OMS ‘Virtual Classroom Training System’
In recognition that COVID-19 will prevent some workers from renewing existing PASMA Cards, PASMA will extend the validity of a current PASMA Towers for Users Card by 90 days on completion of the PASMA Towers for Users Online Theory.
All delegates will then need to complete the practical element at our training centre within 90 days of attending this LIVE Virtual Classroom.
Delegates will need to have a computer with a web-cam and internet connection.
To train delegates to a high level of competence to assemble, dismantle, alter, move, inspect and use a mobile access tower without risk of personal injury to themselves or anyone who may be affected by their work, give an understanding of the legal issues affecting work at height with mobile access towers, the product standards, and a thorough knowledge of the hazards affecting the use of mobile access towers.
1 Day – half day LIVE Virtual Classroom, half day Practical at OMS within 90 days of this virtual course
Personnel who will be responsible for the assembly, dismantling, alteration, moving and inspecting of mobile access towers.
How to safely assemble, dismantle, relocate and alter a mobile access tower without risk of personal injury to the delegate or others
Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user. Similarly, since the assembly and use of mobile access towers can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about their fitness to use mobile access towers, they must bring them to the attention of their employer. This need not preclude them from using mobile access towers, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have
It would be envisaged that you will have a good working knowledge of the Work at Height Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
A short, multiple choice test, as well as a practical test on the day.
Successful delegates receive a nationally-recognised certificate and photocard from PASMA, which expires after 5 years.
