CITB - SSSTS Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher
This course is designed for current holders of the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme who are looking to refresh their knowledge and skills, particularly those who wish to renew their SSSTS certification. CITB funding is available for this course - per person, per day – for ALL registered companies.

Overview
This course aims to deliver all the updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation information that might affect attendees' supervisory roles, as well as outlining industry best practice that has been implemented in recent years. It will allow attendees to fulfil their responsibilities with confidence and ease.

Prerequisites
Please note that each delegate is required to bring with them the following: Photo ID, Date of Birth, National Insurance Number and current CITB card (if applicable). Attendees must hold a valid Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme Certificate which has been gained within the last five years. They must also have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Content
The course covers a number of subjects related to Site Supervision safety training including:
- How health and safety law is structured
- How the supervisory role fits in with the manager's role in controlling safety on site
- Understanding the need for method statements
- Construction site health, safety and welfare
- Communication routes within site activity
- Behavioural safety
- Supervision of occupation health
The course is highly interactive and delivered via case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations. There will be continual assessment and the course will conclude with a multiple-choice test.
Course Benefits
This course will allow current holders of the CITB SSSTS Site Safety Plus certificate to refresh their knowledge and renew their accreditation.
Certification
Upon successfully completing the course, attendees will be awarded a CITB Site Safety certificate.
Please note: From 7th December 2020, the CITB are no longer sending out hard copy certificates for candidates. You will, therefore, receive your certificate by email, if you complete and pass the course.
