CITB - SEATS Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme

The CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS) is a one-day classroom course designed to provide delegates with a clear introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. CITB funding available for this course - per person, per day – for ALL registered companies.

Description

Overview

This course covers a wide range of environmental issues, including waste, water and land management, as well as the management systems used to protect the environment. During the course of the day, delegates will be learn the importance of the environment and how and why to take responsibility for it, as well as how to manage their own construction sites in a sustainable way.

Aims and Objectives

At the end of the day, delegates will be able to understand the need to protect the environment and how to incorporate environmental management systems into their site management. They will also have an understanding of the impact that archaeology and heritage can have on a site. Finally, they will be able to identify the principles of the good neighbour initiative and appreciate the need to be a responsible contractor.

Prerequisites

Please note that each delegate is required to bring with them the following: Photo ID, Date of Birth, National Insurance Number and current CITB card (if applicable).

Who Should Attend

This course is ideal for those involved in the sub-contract chain, as it provides the basic environmental knowledge that subcontractors are required to prove to larger contractors.

The course concludes with a multiple-choice examination and a summary/feedback session.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a new CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS) certificate.

Please note:  From 7th December 2020, the CITB are no longer sending out hard copy certificates for candidates.  You will, therefore, receive your certificate by email, if you complete and pass the course.
