First Aid at Work
First Aid can literally be a life saver when it comes to workplace accidents, and every workplace should have responsible first aiders on their team. On this course, we cover all the subjects first aiders need to know, and make sure they have the knowledge to step in when accidents or illness strikes. CITB funding is available for this course - per person, per day – for ALL registered companies.

Overview
This course is broken down into a number of subjects, all designed to give valuable insight into first aid, and equipping each delegate the skills and confidence they need to be a nominated first aider in their workplace.
The course is primarily designed for attendees working in smaller workplaces, where there are fewer first aid risks or hazards.
Aims and Objectives
This course aims to give attendees the essential information and skills they need in order to perform their role as nominated first aider effectively and confidently.
Duration
This is a 3-day course.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners are expected to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for nominated emergency first aiders, or anyone else who is looking to gain a comprehensive introduction to first aid.
Content
The course is broken down into a number of topics:
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations
- Managing an incident
- The priorities of first aid
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Resuscitation
- Shock
- Choking
- Seizures
- Bleeding
- Common workplace injuries
Course Benefits
This course equips learners with the vital skills they need to perform first aid in case of an emergency, as well as qualifying them for a First Aid certificate.
Certification
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be issued with a First Aid certificate which is valid for three years.
Please note: From 1st April 2021, Worksafe are no longer sending out hard copy certificates for candidates. You will, therefore, receive your certificate by email, if you complete and pass the course.
