This qualification is designed for practising middle managers, to develop their skills and improve performance in readiness for senior management responsibilities.

Course Duration

A three day programme will give delegates an Award at Level 3, whilst a Certificate can be achieved in 5 days of training (dependent on the modules chosen).  An example of modules for this programme are detailed below, with some modules lasting 2 days (these can be tailored to meet your specific requirements):

Course Content

Becoming an Effective Leader

  • Evaluating own leadership style and ability to use different styles with different people with positive effect
  • Evaluate how emotional intelligence can improve the importance of the manager and those around them
  • Evaluating own abilities to delegate, motivate and set direction or the team, and produce a development plan to bring about improvements

 

Developing and leading teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives

  • Assessing and measuring the team’s performance against organisational goals and objectives
  • Evaluating management theory which can be used to help the team achieve organisational goals
  • Critically review own ability to lead and develop the skills of the team and create a plan to bring about improvement

 

Managing Recruitment

  • Identifying the role of HR Planning and its role in strategic planning in the organisation
  • Assess the impact of legal requirements and organisational policies on recruitment and HR planning
  • Understand the recruitment process of own organisation and how to use it to recruit effectively
