ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management
This qualification is ideal if you are have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Course Duration
A four day programme will give delegates an Award at Level 3, whilst a Certificate can be achieved in 8 days of training (dependent on the modules chosen). An example of modules for this programme are detailed below (these can be tailored to meet your specific requirements)
Course Content
Planning Change in the Workplace
- Identify forces for change in the workplace using SWOT and PESTLE analysis
- Explain a change required in your own workplace and explain how you are going to plan this change
- Identify the financial and human costs of the change identified
- Explain how the change will be communicated to the team and rest of the organisation
- Understand how to plan the change programme using a tool such as a Gantt chart
Understanding Leadership
- Understand the factors that influence our choice of leadership style
- Identify the impact different leaderships styles have on others
- Understand your own leadership style by collecting feedback from others
- Identify areas of improvement in your leadership style and actions that can be taken to bring about improvement
Understanding Discipline in the Workplace
- Understand the legal aspects of the disciplinary process and the purpose of an organisational disciplinary procedure
- Identify the organisation’s policies in relations to disciplinary issues and how these help to guide a manager
- Identify the interpersonal skills and behaviours needed by a manager to monitor discipline in the workplace
Understanding Organising and Delegating in the Workplace
- Explain the importance of making effective and efficient use of people’s skills and knowledge to achieve work objectives
- Understand how to identify the best person for an activity and how HR planning can help assure output in the workplace
- Understand how to delegate tasks effectively, overcoming barriers and monitoring outcomes
