PASMA Combined Low Level Access and Towers for Users
This one-day course combines the PASMA courses on scaffold and low-level towers, and offers a clear insight into the legislation, guidelines, details and potential hazards of their use. It looks at how to safely assemble, dismantle, relocate and use both low-level access units and scaffold towers, as well as looking at the potential threats they may cause.

Overview
In this one-day course, combining a review of the use of both standard and low-level scaffold towers, we look at the use, construction, dismantling and operation of these towers as well as both the legislation and guidelines behind them and the potential hazards they may cause. The course combines theory and practical elements and is assessed by a combination of written and practical tests.
Aims and Objectives
This course aims to train personnel in the professional and competent use of standard scaffold and low-level access equipment, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction, and how to identify and reduce the risk of personal injury to themselves or others during their work.
Duration
This is a one-day course.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners are expected to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.
Candidates are expected to bring the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the course.
- High-visibility vest/jacket
- Hard hat
- Safety Boots
- Rigger Boots
- Safety glasses/goggles
Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be issued throughout the practical session as required. Stocks of PPE will also be available for purchase if required.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for anyone who is regularly expected to use standard and low-level access equipment made from prefabricated tower components during the course of their working day.

The course contains the following modules:
- Current Legislation
- Regulations and Guidance on Working from Low-Level Access Units and Standard Mobile Access Towers
- Guidance and Information
- The PASMA Code of Practice, PAS250 (Publicly Available Specification)
- Folding Scaffolds
- Assembling, Altering and Dismantling Platforms – Best Practice
- Inspection of Platforms
- Potential Hazards
The course concludes with a written and practical assessment.
Course Benefits
This course will give delegates the confidence and competence they need to safely manage the assembly, use and disassembly of both standard scaffold and low-level access towers.
Certification
A PASMA PhotoCard and Certificate will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and practical sessions which have a five year validity period.
