Plant Safety - Crane Appointed Person

This course aims to train selected personnel in the safe use of cranes, as defined in BS7121 Part 1 1998 to the CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) standard. It covers a range of subjects ranging from the legislation to engineering principles behind crane use, and is ideal for all personnel responsible for selecting and planning the use of cranes.

Overview

Planning and executing the use of cranes can be a tricky business, rich with legislation and engineering points of consideration. In this two-day course, we look at the basic principles of crane use, as well as legislation, best practice, and how to set up and perform a checklist and risk assessment.

This course aims to train responsible personnel in the safe selection and planning of crane use, as defined in BS7121 Part 1 1998 to the CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) standard.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, learners are expected to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.

Course Benefits

This course will allow all personnel attending to be able to ensure that lifting operations are properly planned and executed, and that the correct selection of cranes and lifting equipment has taken place, in accordance with the BS7121 Part 1 1998, to the CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) standard.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, attendees are given a Certificate of Attendance, which is valid for five years.
