Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt

Six Sigma is a globally-recognised, data-driven methodology, that is implemented in businesses to eliminate defects through successive business process improvement. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, certified by the CPD, is the second in the Lean Six Sigma Belt sequence, which provides delegates with essential and practical knowledge of Six Sigma and its methodology. This course is delivered over 5 days, followed by a period of up to two days of coaching from our Master Black Belt back in the workplace.

 There are two elements to the course.

 1.         The first part is the 5 day classroom experience, which will cover:

  • Normal Distribution and Standard Deviation
  • Process Capability

Lean Management

  • The Role of the Lean Manager

  • Emotional Cycle of Change (ECOC)
    • Personality Styles
    • Dealing with Resistance.
    • Stakeholder analysis
    • Project Management.

Lean Tools & Measures

  • Scatter diagrams and regression analysis
  • Hypothesis testing
  • Measurement Systems Analysis
  • Cost of poor quality
  • Takt Time
  • Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE)

Risk Management

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Risk Management
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.

DMAIC for Green Belts

2.      Uniquely, in addition to the 5 classroom days, our Master Black Belt will provide up to 5 days of remote coaching (either via phone, email or videocall) to delegates, post-course, to assist them in their projects. 

Learning Outcomes

By attaining this Six Sigma certification provides delegates will know how they can implement each step of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology from root to solve the real-life problems in their company and convert the disorganised environment into clean and organised working area of the organisation. Our highly experienced and capable trainers apply an interactive and engaging approach for teaching which will help you to prepare and pass your exam.

We would anticipate there to be a minimum cost benefit / saving of c£10k, per delegate, following the successful implementation this project.

Duration

5 days classroom + 2 days remote coaching.

Assessment

In addition to continuous assessment, during the 5 days, to gain a full Green belt certificate delegates will need to complete a writtten exam, as well as an improvement project, following the DMAIC structure, and show use of some of the tools. An Incremental project document should be forwarded to OMS for assessment post-course.

Certification

And as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, certified by OMS and the CPD, you will be able to understand how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at a high level of proficiency.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course, however, we would highly recommend that delegates will have first sat their Yellow Belt training prior to attending.
